About the event
Enschede, March 12, 2025 – Aluvia Photonics, a leading innovator in photonic integrated circuits (PICs), is investing in new manufacturing equipment to scale its AlOx technology to 200mm wafers. The new equipment is set to be installed later this year, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth.
The expansion will enable the processing of sputtered AlOx on 200mm wafers, allowing Aluvia to meet the growing demand in the photonics market. "We see strong market demand for our AlOx technology, and this expansion helps us deliver our innovations at a larger scale," said CEO Steve Stoffels.
The first 200mm wafers are expected to be available in early 2026, with additional Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) runs and customer projects to follow. The investment is supported by the High Tech Fund through Universiteit Twente Holding (UTH).
This development further strengthens Aluvia's position as a leading provider of AlOx-based photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for applications in telecommunications, AI, quantum computing, and other emerging markets.
